WELCOME EVERYBODY :)

Welcome everyone to our blog, in this blog we are going to learn about biomaterials, something very important today that can help us save lives or help people overcome diseases. You will learn about the types of biomaterials, their origin, their uses, and some research that is currently being done. So now you know, if you have any questions about biomaterials, here is your trusted source. I hope you enjoy and learn about this important topic.  :)

Origin of biomaterials

ORIGIN  The origin of the biomaterials dates to antiquity, when the Egyptians uses satures made from animal sinew, since taht moment biomaterials has develope and making more important in the science being now a very important way to prevent and cure ilnesses                                      The first biomaterial, in the sense in which this term is known today, was developed in the 1920s. Reiner Erdle and Charles Prange combined their knowledge as a dentist and metallurgy, respectively, to develop the first metallic biomaterial, nitrogen Vitallium.

BIOMATERIALS

A biomaterial is any substance that has been designed to interact with biological systems for a medical purpose, whether therapeutic or diagnostic. These materials last approximately  50  years and cover elements of medicina, biology or chemestry. Biomaterials may be natural or synthetic and are used in medical applications to support, enchance, or replace damaged tissue or a biological function.

TYPES AND USES

The biomaterials are used to many things such as: Medical implants; including heart valves, regeneration of tissues, and many things to help humans to survive. There are differents types of biomaterials as tehere are different uses, some types are: Polymer based-biomaterial: p olymer-based biomaterials have replaced other materials such as metals, alloys, and ceramics because of their low cost Ceramic-based biomaterial: t he bio-ceramics have certain properties such as stiffness, hardness, chemical stability, and wear resistance. Hybrid biomaterial combinations: h ybrid biomaterial combinations are a combination of naturally derived materials and synthetic materials.

ADVANTAGES

May 19, 2022 Biomaterials have many advantages thanks to the study and good use that has been made of them, some of those advantages could be: 👇 They are strong and chemically inert They have low density and are resistant to corrosion. They also can minimize bone growth.
